Man Utd submits bids to sign “unplayable” star, more fatal than Cunha

Whether Manchester United defeated Tottenham Hotspur to win the Europa League this week, it was a disastrous season for the Red Devils.

Reuben Amorim’s side is 16th in the Premier League table, losing 18 of his 37 games to date.

The Portuguese head coach, who joined the club from the sport earlier this season, will aim to strengthen his team in the upcoming summer transfer window to bounce back in the 2025/26 campaign.

Recently, Manchester United was reported to be locked up in a contract signing forward Matthew Cunya of Wolverhampton Wanderers, for example, to improve their offensive options.

Brazil International is scheduled to join Amorim’s team ahead of next season, and was able to provide offensive quality this season, given that it has already proven its quality in the Premier League.

What Matheus Cunha can bring to Man Utd

Cunha has already shown his abilities at the top of the pitch over the last two seasons on Molineux, and will arrive as a proven amount on top of the English top flight.

The former Atletico Madrid magician scored 12 goals and seven assists in the Premier League along with two goals in two FA Cup matches in the 2023/24 campaign at Midland.

Importantly, the 25-year-old star plays as one of two number 10 behind the wolf central striker, similar to the offensive system Amorim regularly plays at Manchester United. This suggests he can be slotted straight into the team without learning new ways to play.

Meanwhile, Manchester United players have not scored more than eight goals this season on their top flights this season.

The club is reportedly lined up the moves of another player who has already shown his talent in the division, so it may not be the only proven track record Premier League star to join the Red Devils in the coming months.

According to a report from Spain, Manchester United has submitted a bid to sign Brentford’s winger Brian Mbeumo in the transfer window for the upcoming summer.

The report alleges that the Red Devils officially made an offer worth around £55 million to sign Cameroon International prior to the 2025/26 campaign.

This means Ineos is in discussion with Brentford about a deal to bring the left-footed attacker to Old Trafford, but the report does not say whether the bees are ready to accept the £55 million charge ahead of the star.

However, Manchester United shows they are serious about the 25-year-old attacker’s contract as they are trying to submit an offer to him as they want to bolster their attack options.

The club must try to move across the line for Brentford’s star in the coming weeks.

Why Mbeumo can be amazing along with cunha

Mbeumo is used to playing as a right winger on 4-3-3 rather than as part of the front line, but could potentially be a Cunha’s exciting partner behind the starting striker for the upcoming season.

The Brentford and the Wolf Star can act as two number 10 options behind the new centre forward. This gives Amorim two proven scorers that provide consistent quality at the top of the pitch.

As mentioned earlier, Manchester United’s top goalscorer Bruno Fernandez has scored eight goals this season in the Premier League.

In Mbeumo, once called “unplayable” by Thomas Frank, the Red Devils will sign another player who has proven they can become different makers at the top of the English top flight pitch.

The left-footed star scored nine goals and six assists in the Premier League during the 2023/24 campaign, but he has taken the game to new heights in his current season.

As you can see from the graphics above, Mbeumo has been directly involved in 26 goals in 37 top flight matches, scoring more than twice the top scorer for Manchester United.

This suggests that he brings much needed goals and support to Amorim’s side. This is in Cunha’s case, as he has already proven his quality at the top edge of the pitch at that level.

So Cunha and Mbeumo are astounding as two number 10 options for Manchester United in the 2025/26 campaign as they are attacking both midfielders or wide players who can find the net at exceptional ratings in the Premier League.

Both are 25 years old, and they are also heading towards the best years of their careers and could become key players for Amorim for years to come.
