Signing a new offensive midfielder to replace Kevin de Bruin is one of Man City’s priorities for this summer’s transfer period, but it’s extremely difficult for cities to sign targets.
Florian Wiltz was on the Man City radar and now appears ready to join Liverpool. And a recent report revealed that Arsenal is putting pressure on Morgan Gibbswhite, who also appears on the list of former Premier League champions.
And now another name can judge Aston Villa’s attitude and get out of Man City’s grasp.
Aston Villa is not considering selling Morgan Rogers
According to a soccer insider, Pete O’Rourke has revealed that Aston Villa has no plans to sell Morgan Rogers this summer despite interest from many clubs. One of them is Man City.
“They are looking at alternatives to offensive midfielders, a playmaker who can improve city property next season, and Morgan Rogers has had a great season for Aston Villa.
Rogers had an incredible season with Aston Villa. The former Man City young man scored 14 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. This has many clubs in mind considering summer moves, with Chelsea being one of them.
Given that Wirtz and Rogers seem unachievable, it will be interesting to see who is going for now. Gibbs White is still achievable, but you need to recognize the interest from other clubs. As things stand, if the right players aren’t added to his team ahead of the kickoff of the 2025-26 season in August, that could be an annoying period for Pep Guardiola.
