Their focus is on finding a new manager, but the Rangers are reportedly now seriously interested in signing European talents they have already scouted ahead of the summer transfer window.
Rangers Manager Short List
Before anything else, GERS had to ultimately find a permanent replacement for Philip Clement. He opposed to giving Barry Ferguson the job following a brief interim spell at the end of the season. That’s why many candidates are not surprised, but have already manifested in the race to win the position of Wackanto in Ibrox.
Names like Stephen Gerrard and David Ancelotti have stole the headlines the most, but that hasn’t stopped Russell Martin from receiving links to work in recent weeks. The former Southampton manager has quit his job since being shown the door at St. Mary’s and is now an outside candidate who has arrived in Scotland and is linked to his job in Leicester City.
He has a lot to say about who should arrive, including the Rangers legend Ally McCoist. He told reporters when he was quized on Gerrard’s next move. “It’s absolutely important that his next job is the right job and that he didn’t do well in Villa or Saudi Arabia. It’s similar to Frank Lampard. His move to Coventry was important to get his management career back on track. Stephen is in the same position.
Whether a return to the Rangers is a move that will become Gerrard’s “spot-on” is a question that Scotland may get answers in the coming weeks.

Rangers are seriously interested in the wingers at Jul Garden Fallenius
According to Sweden’s Fotboll Direkt, the 49ers are seriously interested in signing Oskar Fallenius after completing a scouting mission at 23-year-old Djurgarden Winger. The Swedes could be part of a much-needed list of arrivals as the people of Ibrox seem to return their side to true title candidates and fill in the Celtic gap in the process.
Fallenius, a player featured on the European stage and scoring in the Europa Congress League, appears to be doing enough to attract the Rangers’ attention before the summer transfer period.
If the 49ers are trying to improve their GERS while maintaining their budget, the arrival of players who may be on the verge of exploding into his best form must advance. And Fallenius falls into that category.
The Scottish Giants definitely made it all wrong last summer, but there is a way for new owners to get the opportunity to fill the Celtic gap for the first time since 2021.
