Liverpool is set to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wiltz this summer, but it appears Real Madrid can aim to hijack German international moves.
The transaction has not yet been completed, and reports from Spanish publications claim Real Madrid can dive at their final moments. It remains to be seen whether the Spanish club will come forward with an official offer to sign players.
The 22-year-old is one of the world’s best young players, and if Real Madrid can secure his signature, it would be a big coup for them. Wirtz has previously been labelled “absolutely exceptional.”
Liverpool has already submitted Wirtz’s first official offer.
Will Liverpool secure Florian Wharts?
Liverpool will certainly be worried about this situation, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to get a deal anytime soon. Real Madrid appointed Xabi Alonso as manager, and the Spaniard played an important role in the development of Wirtz in his time as manager of a German club. The player could be drawn to reunion with him at a Spanish club.
Bayern Munich was keen to sign the players as well, but Liverpool was able to convince him to turn down the move to German champions. They will be desperate to secure his signature this summer. The 22-year-old can act as a midfielder and wide player in central attacks. He adds targets and creativity to his attack on Liverpool.
Real Madrid can use more creativity
Real Madrid could use more creativity in the final third, and it remains to be seen how the situation will develop. Real Madrid is widely regarded as the world’s largest club, and the opportunity to join them can be very difficult for any player to refuse. If there are specific suggestions at the table, it would not be surprising if German internationals were tempted to join them.
