Gulfstream Park Race caller Pete Aiello will take over at the Santa Anita Anita announcer’s booth from Friday to next Sunday while Frank Miramadi is in Saratoga to make a five-day call to Saratoga Belmont Stakes Race festival.
This year, the young up-and-coming Liam Molinaro was the announcer at the Golden State Race Tournament in the fall in Pleasanton, California.

Miramadi has been the track announcer for Santa Anita since December 2018. In 2023, Miramadi was further hired by the New York Racing Association and was the announcer at a summer tournament in Saratoga. Last year, the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival was added to Miramadi’s duties when it was moved to Saratoga from Belmont Park, which is undergoing a $455 million renovation.
“I am grateful that I have the privilege to call the Belmont stakes again for Neela and Fox,” Miramadi said. “Santa Anita management should rest once more kindly. Our fans are delighted to welcome Pete Aiero from our sister truck to our booth at Great Race Place.
Aiero has been Gulfstream’s annual announcer since 2016. Aiello, 39, originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, served as the guest race caller for Santa Anita at the 2023 Breeders’ Cup, squealing boy turf and boy turf fillings and undercards for Sensen Madies. This marks his first full weekend advancement at the racetrack in Arcadia, California.
“It’s exciting because this time you can call all races and get into rhythm,” Aiero said. “It’s all about this job, rhythm.”
Aiero acknowledged that every time an announcer moves to a new track, there are additional challenges that come whenever he is not familiar with the local horse population.
“Like silk. Some people I know as a fan, but it’s a bit difficult because there are other people I’ve never seen before,” Aiero said. “But one of the good things about the equation is that Santa Anita is nothing new to me. It has a great resource in the sense that I can call you Frank whenever I have a question.”
